If you intend to race at any one of the following tracks in
the 2008 racing season, please pay attention to the rules
listed below. There are a few that have not committed to
them yet, and they may or may not choose to do so.. the
following list is ones who have committed:
Trailways Speedway
Path Valley Speedway Park
Lindas Speedway
Greenwood Valley Action Track¯
Shippensburg Speedway
Hill Valley Speedway
Kutztown Speedway
Bridgeport Speedway
Here is the rules as adopted by the speedways listed above.
All of you are not going to agree, but they are from a large
general consensus of your fellow racers. They are not from
just one meeting, but from many discussions since this long
overdue decision was first talked about. To answer your
first question about tech inspections. All of these tracks
have agreed to band together and enforce the rules. They
will all be participating in tech seminars with their tech
personnel complete with all of the motors in effected on
display. There has also been some people come forward and
volunteer their time to do a roving tech inspection at the
above listed tracks on any given night. It’s a start! We can
all try to make this a competitive affordable division as it
was first intended to be. I do believe more than any other
rules, the elimination of the rev boxes is the single most
valuable rule to help this class remain affordable. Thank
you all for your input, complaints, compliments, gripes, and
the likes through all of this. They were all taken into
account. Lets all pick up and go race again next year,
perhaps these will work, perhaps they will need fine tuned.
That remains to be seen. Good luck to all of you!
There has been much anticipation of proposed rule changes in
the 600cc division for the past several months. It has taken
a long time to move off of center on this issue, but the
following steps were taken to try and keep the class as a
growing, intermediate form of sprint car racing. Keep in
mind, what you are reading in the following are strictly
proposals and not new rules set in stone. It will be up to
the individual tracks to adopt the suggestions for the motor
rules AND to enforce them. This is the first step in moving
forward, and the specific tracks that have seen the proposal
and are in agreement with them are as follows….Trailways
Speedway, Path Valley, Greenwood Valley, Shippensburg, and
Kutztown. Bridgeport Speedway and Linda’s indicated that
they would like to review the issues further before
committing to them. Lanco, and Airport cannot commit to them
this year due to membership issues, which is understandable.
While we know everyone cannot be happy with change, it is
something that is inevitable and had to be dealt with and
quickly. Please keep in mind that this was in no way a
conspiracy of chassis builders, motor builders and the likes
to make money. A lot has been posted in many areas stating
this misaligned thinking. We all want to see our division
grow even more, and this may be the answer, it may not be.
All that remains to be seen at this point. What I do know, a
lot of effort has gone into this and still more needs to be
done to make it a success. As you read the new proposal,
take some time to consider the overall division and keep
your own personal agenda aside for a few moments. I think
you will see this is a fair set of rules and it was meant to
actually keep the cost down and keep new racers coming to
the division. That being said, read them very carefully and
take note to the specific areas that changed. Specifically
they are, Item #3, Item #8, Item #9, Item #13 ( 2009 Season
), and Item # 14. One more item of interest, a spec compound
tire rule was also proposed but was tabled due to such a
diverse set of opinions. Perhaps that can be addressed in
the future. Good luck to everyone in the 2008 Season.
