Proposed 2011 Rules Package 600cc
Gentleman,
The time has come when we need to look at the fall meeting,
which is to take place in September.
We are proposing a rewrite to the rules, to make them be a list
of items that cannotbe
done to an engine. This will help eliminate many gray areas that
now occur. The goal with the rewrite was to make the rules be
theexactsame,
but eliminate the language used in the original rules that open
up many gray areas.
I attached the 2010 rules and the proposed 2011 rules to this
document. Review them, make any suggestions to me by email.
We would like to take a vote on this rewrite before the fall
meeting by conference call with all the U6SA members. We would
then approve or disapprove the rewrite. If the rewrite passes,
we will then make our proposed rule changes based on the new
rewrite.
Please let your track rep know how you would like him to vote.
Also I need input this friday 9/3/10 since the conference call
on this is next tuesday 9/7/10 for me to vote for them.
Thanks,
Rick Stief

at Bridgeport
Paul McCollum started on the
pole Friday night on the
quarter mile dirt at
Bridgeport, NJ and led the
first eleven laps of the
20-lap Zmax Keystone
Legends Tour headliner. When
Brian Weitzel and point
leader, Pat McDermott,
motored past on lap twelve,
McCollum maintained his
composure and took up the
chase in third position. Two
laps later Weitzel lost the
handle on his #248 and spun
in turn two, taking
McDermott along for the ride
and returning the point to
McCollum. Even when Tim
Bauer slipped under the
leader off turn two on lap
sixteen, a timely caution
for a spinning George Abt
put McCollum back in charge.
On the restart McCollum
reeled off the remaining
laps with Bauer at bay to
claim his first career
Keystone Legends Tour win.
Bauer crossed the stripe a
solid second with Justin
Grim, Clinton Penkauskas,
and McDermott rounding out
the top five.

car field were won by Brian
Weitzel and Clinton

Joe tells us your wrist bands from a rain out are good for one of
the next 3 races
Clarifications to rules per George Nardelli 5/21/10 Fire walls are
required behind fuel tank even with bladder tanks, also no bolt on
or dzus fastened wheel covers, 600cc weights 775 lbs. per U6SA rules
We just heard 5/17/10 from Joe and he requested that we post this to
let the racers know he is concerned and listening to them to try and
do what he can within his control. Joe said he spoke to Jay and
requested some help to get the track in better condition for racing
for lack of a better wording. They will try and work it more this
week and try some things and try to put a little banking in track to
try and form a better second groove amoung other issues, etc. Joe
also mentioned he will once again speak to the racers at the drivers
meeting this week and once again for racers to help self control
themselves when out on the track and not be running into other cars.
P.S. Racers speak to your class reps and let them know your thoughts
and concerns and hopefully we can address our problems in a positive
manner that is good for all parties involved, Teams, Management and
the Fans.

TRACK OWNER JAMES ADDRESSES LARGE CROWD AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
MEETING
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (March 8, 2010) - A crowd of nearly 200 individuals
assembled at the Holiday Inn in Swedesboro, NJ on Sunday, March 7th
to
pick up important documents including rules and hear track owner Jay
James speak about the new season.
After thanking the crowd for taking time out of their schedule to
attend the meeting, James spoke about a variety of topics including
some changes for 2010. The major adjustment is going from a four
division program to a three division show with the combination of
the
Crate-1 and Crate-2 cars into a Crate Modified class. ?Fans told us
our shows were too long,? declared James. ?Going to a three division
show will decrease the length of a show.? Also, James spoke about a
consistent and fair method of enforcing the rules for 2010. For the
upcoming season, each division will have a representative that will
approach management with any issues. The drivers and owners present
at
the meeting were asked to vote on one person to become a spokesman
for
their division.
After paying out nearly $50,000 in 2009 point fund
monies, James stated that the goal for 2010 is $100,000.
In addition,
James informed Bridgeport Speedway Big Block Modified drivers about
the new American Racer East Coast Modified Cup which will be
officially unveiled in Syracuse, NY on March 13th.
The first laps of the 2010 season at Bridgeport Speedway will take
place at the end of the month. On Saturday, March 27th at 1:00 PM, a
practice session will take place on the big 5/8th mile track with
the
pit gates opening at 9:00 AM. A test and tune session for quarter
mile
competitors is on tap for Sunday, March 28th at 1:00 PM with the pit
gates opening at 10:00 AM. If foul weather should occur on Saturday,
March 27th, practice will take place for both ovals on Sunday, March
28th.
Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere,
free
parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed ?The Fastest
Dirt Track in the East?, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile
dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center,
and
is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania
and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
