Joe Ruchlewicz,  The Friday nite race director has announced that The All New Bridgeport Speedway and their 1/4 Mile dirt track has adopted the new 2008 600cc Micro Sprint Universal Engine Rules for racing in 2008.

Bridgeport, NJ  December 15, 2007 . . .
Joe said he and the speedway has decided to adopt for 2008 the new 600cc Micro Sprint Universal Engine rules which will standarize the rules for this class with all the other micro tracks in the tri state area including the central Pa. micro sprint tracks. It's a start! We can try to make this a competitive affordable division as it was first intended to be.
I think you will see this is a fair set of rules and it was meant to actually keep the cost down and keep new racers coming to the division.

Micro Sprint racing on the 1/4 track runs from April to September on Friday nights.

Everything’s a Go; Now, it’s time for the Show at Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, NJ (April 7, 2007) – In just a few hours the first green flag of the 2007 season at the Bridgeport Speedway is going to drop; kicking off the 35th year of action on South Jersey 5/8th mile, high-banked speedplant.  And while the temperatures drop to winter-like conditions, the action on the track is sure enough to heat everyone up!

“We were forced with the same decision other race tracks had to make,” track spokesperson, Jay Dugan said.  “But, our fans wanted to race, and our staff wanted to race, and our drivers wanted to race.  So we’ll throw on an extra layer and have some fun.”

It wasn’t much of a decision in the eyes of Speedway Promoter, Jay James; who’s ‘never say die’ attitude transcends ontothe Speedway’s staff.

Jessica James, who works with Dugan on Speedway Special Events has introduced a new ‘prize’ that works in with the speedway’s ever so popular give-a-ways.

“We’re going to present our first ever ‘fan upgrade’,” James explained.  “A fan at random is going to be selected from the grandstands and he or she, and their guests, are going to be relocated from our general admission seating section to one of our Luxury Suites.”

Pit Licenses from other speedways/organizations will be accepted at the Pit Window.

The action kicks off today, April 7 with the 1st Annual Easter Eggs-treme 30, featuring 30 laps of door-to-door Big Block Modified action in an unprecedented $3500-to-win event.  Bridgeport Speedway competitors of old: Billy Pauch and Doug Hoffman get back in the groove of regular competition at the Fastest Dirt Track in the East aiming to take on the long list of hard-charging Bridgeport favorites.  Also in action: 358 Small Block Modifieds, Sunoco Sportsman, Outlaw Stocks and the Bartleson Masonry/Post Plumbing Rookie Sportsman competitors.

A new array of games, prizes, trivia and give-a-ways accompany our 1st Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the kids, along with a special Best Bunny Costume Contest.

General Admission Pricing is set for $15 with Kids 12 & Under receiving Free Admission.  Family Packs are available for our ‘Big Kids’ for $55 and include 2 Adult and 2 Student (with ID) Admission tickets, as well as, 4 hotdogs and 4 sodas.  Gates open at 4 PM with the First Green flag of the 2007 season dropping at 6 PM.
